Fields of application and use shim DISCS
Polytron 19G shim washers are used for fixing grinding wheels between clamping flanges. Especially when clamping several grinding wheels with spacers or with set wheels, as required for example when grinding crankshafts, the use of Polytron 19G shims is common.
The Polytron 19G shim washers are placed between the flange or spacer and the abrasive. Due to its good elongation, the material compensates the unevenness of the grinding wheel well, thus ensuring an even wear pattern and enabling an even distribution of the clamping force.
It is no longer necessary to re-tension the discs, as the Polytron 19G shim discs show no wear and tear, nor do their dimensions change due to coolants or other environmental influences. This guarantees a permanent fastening of the grinding wheel and safe working.
The Polytron 19G washers have a thickness of 0.5 mm and are available in a wide range of different diameters.

Polytron 19G shim washers are supplied in various dimensions. The standard dimensions available from stock are listed in the table below. In addition, a large number of other dimensions are available on request.
