Plastics for seals and sealing elements

There are different types of gaskets that can be made of plastic. Plastics offer significant advantages over conventional materials and are used for a wide range of applications, depending on mechanical, thermal and chemical stress.

In addition, there is a large number of components that also have to perform sealing functions, such as valves, pistons, stuffing boxes or pump parts. Some of these can also be made from plastics.

We have also compiled some material recommendations for the following types of gaskets:
